The Grateful Dead's Mickey Hart and Particle, a pioneering electronic/jam-rock band, have come together to form HYDRA.

Sunday, April 24 at the 9:30 Club, Washington, DC.
Doors open at 7:30 PM. Show time TBA
All ages are welcome.
Decemberists + Willy Mason, May 6th @ the 9:30, according to decemberists.com.
No DC dates yet but this will be a good one…

John Mellencamp, supporting his new anthology, will be touring with Donovan! Regain interest in Mellencamp with his killer set at Concerts for Change. And the chance to see Donovan who rarely tours will be a great bonus.

Damn, part 1 of that tour is with Okkervil River supporting, that would have been fantastic.
I got the info from Fatboy's label, Astralwerks.
May 5th the Wonderstuff at the Black Cat

It may not have escaped your notice that there is a band out there purporting to be "The Wonder Stuff" who are touring in October. As we see it, we feel that you are owed an explanation. This band is releasing a solo album by Miles Hunt provisionally titled, "Escape From Rubbish Island" and has re-branded it under the name of "The Wonder Stuff" (to be released on IRL recordings, an independent label associated with Spirit Music & Media, Miles' management company). However, we feel it is only right to point out that Martin Gilks & Martin Bell, along with Stuart Quinnell and Peter Whitaker, have nothing whatsoever to do with either this tour or the recording. We perceive this as merely a marketing ploy by Hunt & IRL. It appears that Malcom Treece will be making an appearance with this group, although we have had no confirmation from Malcom at this time.

We would like to thank everyone who has supported us since the reformation concerts in December 2000 and are sorry that things have ended up the way they have. But this situation is not of our making.

Martin Bell & Martin Gilks

Raising the Fawn featuring John Crossingham from Broken Social Scene
Well particle has always sounded to me like they were missing something. I thought it was talent but I guess it could be a percussionist.

the Kills make me wanna freak out, quit my job, crash my car and… i dont know…..I'll be there!
I haven't heard anything by them. RIYL?
well, i usally get pissed on when i try to do this, but I'll say

Yeah Yeah Yeahs, White Stripes, Raveonettes, PJ Harvey
Thx Sonic. Sounds like fun. I'll check them out.
I saw The Kills open for the Yeah Yeah Yeahs at the Black Cat almost two years ago. They were odd (and that's in comparison to the YYYs). Have they grown? That was a long time ago, but it was a tad too…eccentric and minimal for me.

Me thinks this has been announced:
Fiery Furnaces @ 9:30 club 4/8
well, how about that. dc9 books a band about as non-local as you get … from australia!

the lucksmiths
tuesday may 10

so that gives them almost three months to cancel.
BLACK SABBATH and IRON MAIDEN will headline the 10th anniversary edition of Ozzfest, informed sources have told BLABBERMOUTH.NET. In addition, ANTHRAX's "Among the Living" lineup â?? featuring vocalist Joey Belladonna, guitarist Dan Spitz and bassist Frank Bello â?? is said to have secured a slot on the main stage at the festival, which is expected to kick off in mid-July.
Black Sabbath is the perfect example of a band I'd LOVE to see, but I just don't have the patience to deal with Ozzfest. Put them in an arena and I'd be all over it. I'd even get there early enough to see Iron Maiden.

This should be a good show.
Perhaps one show that both Jag and I would see. How often does that happen? Though it is on a work night.

did either of you see the lucksmiths at signal 66? i think that was the last time they played here. i can't remember these things. i remember seeing them at galaxy hut and that silly record store in virginia that sold 24x marked up vintage clothes … and definitely a few other times, too. but it's been a long, long while.
