Awesome. I think it was originally scheduled for the 15th. Glad it was moved, since I have another show to go to on the 15th.

I had friends arrested for smoking pot during an Elvis Costello show a few years back. The kicker: it's federal land, so it became a federal crime. Thank GOD I was in the bathroom when they lit up and the undercover cops nabbed them.
So what ended up happening to your friends? How bad did they get it?
They had to pay expensive lawyers, and were lucky to get a fine and probation, which included random drug testing. But the Feds take the terms of the probation seriously. An agent would randomly show up at their house for a urine sample. Happened 5 or 6 times during the 2 year probation.

what a good use of time for the agents, US drug policy is so fucked up
WED JUNE 14- DUNGEN
Black Cat
new nomination for show of the year:

Lucas Reynolds from Blue Merle + Brett Dennen
Walking into the club, you look up at the stage in anticipation of the evening's performance, curious about this band Blue Merle. But instead of the usual array of electric guitars and stacked amps, what you see are acoustic guitar, mandolin, violin, upright bass, and drums. "The people file in, and they're looking at the stage, seeing these instruments. And until we step out onto the stage and pick them up, I think they're expecting something else," says Blue Merle mandolinist/guitarist Beau Stapleton Something else, indeed. Blue Merle is a band that doesn't simply defy expectations; it renders them irrelevant. Despite its mostly acoustic instrumentation, the band is well practiced at the art of catching an audience unaware and transporting it to a place of pure rock pleasure. It's a trick they've honed through heavy roadwork–whether opening for the likes of J.J. Cale, Badly Drawn Boy, or Jem, or playing festivals ranging from Farm Aid to Bonnaroo ?Į and perfected with their Island debut, Burning In The Sun.
The Aquabats- 6/7- Nation

This makes me sad. The Aquabats put on such an amazing live show, and they have to play at a venue as awful as Nation. I wish they could play the 9:30 or the Black Cat… :(
yeah, that is a huge bummer. they are such sweet guys.

I think The Pharmacist should invite Voxtrot to join his show at iota on April 8.

Guaranteed sell-out.

Yeah, I know, it's been a bummer. I was just wondering if anyone knew about them playing any other dates with Elefant other than the late May one.

Cool.

I don't know about this "Irving" band, though. I mean, these guys are clearly from left field…even Big Yawn hasn't reviewed them.
