Just Announced

I get the Nissan hate but I have to say I've seen some awesome shows there and getting in and out became so much easier many many years ago when they built a new exit of 66..also the fact I live in Arlington a mile from I66 surely helps…….I think people that went there in the 90s think its still like that but I haven't had any issues like that in so long….. Jane's Addiction from a few feet away.. .they were so good.. Motorhead, Heaven and Hell and Priest…Santana my first time from the lawn…Depeche Mode.. Tom Petty (twice)…Heart….Journey…Aerosmith….Pearl Jam...KISS/Motley Crue. and more..heck even David Bowie and Oasis way back in the day.. once I even saw Poison/Ratt and I can't remember who else there..Bob Dylan/paul Simon double bill….the Allman Brothers with Crapdog was pretty lame…. but I usually don't make it out to there more than once a year if that…

I'm not endorsing the place… I only go there if it suits me and its free or inexpensive or i'm hanging with a friend…. $20 all in to see Heart/Cheap Trick/Jett works for me… the last time I saw Heart there was also on a Groupon btw but the seats were in the 100s or 200s…
^ the other part is that I'm just not into any of those bands enough to make the 80 mile (each way) drive…. ever since the debacle of Rush there in 2002 when it took 3 hours to get there in weekday rush hour traffic, I vowed I would never go there again on a weekday, and have kept to that….  luckily, the shows that have been held there that I REALLY want to see have been on weekends, Tom Petty a few times and then this past year, Van Halen was also a saturday…. on another note, if these shows are ALREADY being groupon'ed, that probably confirms my suspicions that those acts really aren't good large shed draws…..

ps… I also went there for the well documented Radiohead disaster, but I'll give that place a pass on that one because of the extraordinary weather conditions that totally clogged everything up…..
^things at the lube have actually improved over the past few years and a sunday show will probably not be a traffic nightmare.  and coming in from the west up 29 is a breeze.
n.i.n., petty, csnY, rush, bowie (moby package tour w/busta), brian wilson (signed my 'pet sounds'), raindiohead, yeah once or twice a season is fine.
better vibe at mpp, but that drive…

Any word on Jeff Lynne bringing ELO stateside?

kind of old news is the only news I could find (of course British shows were announced since)..:

"There are no ELO shows on the books right now, though Lynne says his manager is planning some big concerts in England in the spring. Plans for American shows are a little more tenuous, and the hope is obviously to avoid the Zoom fiasco and book conservatively. "It would probably be a mixture of theaters and arenas in America," says Lynne. "To be honest, I love theaters because the sound is always so much better."

For now, Lynne is taking things one step at a time. "As far as more shows, we'll see what happens," he says. "If it goes well, I'll certainly do more stuff. Let's hope it goes well."
