Rhett & Brian = 930's resident haters

I'm not a hater. I just have a remarkable bullshit detector and an aversion to performing fellatio on Misters Corgan, Yorke, Sumner, Hewson, Butler, Springsteen, Tweedy, etc.

Brian

P.S. Your mash note to U2 the other day was heartwarming, Mr. Director.
I know not of what you speak, but let's stick to the facts now.

Speaking of Mr. Sumner, isn't it documented fact that you paid $100+ of your hard-earned Walalce khash to see Mr. Sumner on July 20, 2007, in the American amusement province known as Hershey Park, PA???? Also noting your documented disdain for anything related to "nostalgia", as we do not "live in the 80s"???

I attended.

Which is far different than queuing up to get an All Access VIP so you can "rap" with his Sting-ness like a 19 year old Wal-Mart housewares associate trying to get backstage at a Nickelback show.

Have a nice weekend,

Brian

P.S. I'm just kidding, Director. You are VERY passionate about music and I admire that in you.

P.P.S. Now, let's get back to announcing shows of bands I've never heard of.

I'm not sure I would want to be in their van.

They need to take Ted Leo off that list:

DFA79, you're like 16, right?

i'm seeing a pattern here.
I'm 20, prick.

I first saw Dane Cook when I was like 15 though so it's stuck with me. He's not my favorite comedian or anything but his old shit is still hysterical.

You people hate everything main stream. Jesus.

im with DFA. I thought Tourgasm was quite hilarious. not that id pay $100 to see mr. cook, but some of his stuff is quite good. i did pay close to $100 to see Denis Leary and friends. I would pay obscene amounts to see denis leary. i think the job was f'ing genius and rescue me is f'ing genius! there ya go. but hes probably too mainstream for everyone or youll say hes a hack. whatever. ms gershon and i can appreciate him then :D
I'm with Sweetcell: I thought DeathFromAbove was 16.

Did you seriously think I was 16 when I met you? Was it my David Bowie shirt? Dammit.
It isn't fair to Rhett to compare him to Brian who hasn't done much on here besides troll for attention.

Rhett's "hate" which I usually don't agree with is more often than not backed up by legitimate criticism of whatever band he's posting about.

i want to punch dane cook in the throat.
not because he's mainstream. he's fucking annoying and he's not funny.

In all honestly, and not trying to start anything, I don't ever get the impression Rhett has ever heard half the bands he trashes. When pressed for specifics on his critiques, he can rarely ever give specific song names and always claims he heard the band on online radio or something of that nature.

that is a very legitimate critique of this group - hence my occasional "oppositional-defiant" comments.

but i'm pretty mainstream, certainly more than the average here. and i can't stand dane cook. he's not funny because he's not a comedian - he's a performance artist, and a predictable one at that, passing himself off as a comedian. i've seen two of his shows/performances/whatever you called them, never managed to sit through an entire one. i wanted to like him for being different, but his suckiness overcame that desire. oh well, glad you like him.

edit: no, wait, i'm not glad. that egomaniac doesn't deserve the credit, fame and fortune that he has right now.

Well, that's true. But I think he's funny, you don't. Blah, who cares. Arguing on the internet is dumb.

I enjoy Dane Cook. Mainly for the fact that he pisses all of you hipsters off so much.

I guess he's not ironic enough or his bitrate isn't above 160.

Brian
Because Bill Hicks did it much better years ago, Leary rips off Hicks, and Henry Rollins, while not even intentionally, is much funnier and all 3 are much more intelligent than Cook.
