Dream Theater has been out on the road for a good portion of 2017 celebrating the 25th anniversary of its 1992 breakthrough album Images And Words, and now the band has finally turned an eye toward North America. Dream Theater will be playing Images And Words in its entirety at every stop along the routing, with a second set of classics that spans its entire discography.

There will be no opener for the tour, as there hasn't been for any other country, so prepare for a whole night of progressive rock and metal! Oh, and John Petrucci says the band will be "breaking out some rare material" for the tour, so who knows what that'll end up being.

This will come as no surprise to anyone who's kept their proverbial ear to the ground.
That just led me down a rabbit hole that went Dope Lemon –> Angus Stone –> Julia Stone.

Thanks!

Could the real casualty of the Anthem be the death of the Fillmore?  Because Anthem can outbid with so much more capacity

While many here would applaud that, how many FSS shows have there really been that would have been a better fit at Anthem? Some, for sure.  Not a ton, tho.
That place is dying and this does not help
It's also a ridiculous comparison.  FSS is max 2,000,  Anthem is 6,000. Totally different market segment.

it's still a part of the Live nation porfolio
So when lame bands book there national tour live adds FSS to the list.

It's just crazy to think that Ed Kowalczyk alone holds so much power.
Just not so…often bands play live nation venues and in dc play imp…the fss schedule is way crummier than say irving plaza in nyc

I confess that i don't know how it all works, but my thought was that if Anthem thinks it can sell 2750 tix, and a lot of beer/booze, it could outbid FSS on some of their bigger shows that are not lockedin due to an Ed Kowalczyk/Live tie-in.  I have no examples, pie-charts, or anything.
I do have it on good authority that The Anthem is going after Lez Zeppelin, Biz Markie 90's Dance night, and Born in the USA.

I don't get this post. Bottom line, FSS will still be here in a few years booking the shittiest of the shitty music.
Fss has gotten shows like social d that could be anthem shows

1500-2000 capacity sounds about right for Social Distortion in 2017.
Sorry to disrupt the conversation but I have a show announcement:

Mister Heavenly
