you know I sit and watch people here predict outcomes of shows and, just for everyone's information…and keep in mind I do this for a living…the price of the show seldom determines how it does

so, people that wish a show doesn't do well because they don't like the ticket price…I'm sorry, it just doesn't happen

personally, I wish all of the tickets were cheap so people could go to more shows, but that's just not what it takes sometimes to get these shows booked

people go to expensive shows, they just go to less of them

Seth defending capitalism? What a radical notion…

Capitalism does not need defending.  History has repeatedly proven that.  :)
Any word on ticket prices?

Sky Ferreira cancelled
I think my days of paying over $50 for a show (and anything that high would be once a year at most) are long behind me.

Dang it.

DC March 30 (no venue listed PLUS that is SVI/Lost Rivers night)
Baltimore March 31 (no venue listed yet)

The Veldt (Apollo Heights)
the British shoegaze group Suzy Blue (Insect Guide)

The DC venue has been changed for this show. It is now at The Pinch

Still can't attend due to my work schedule and bummed about that. C'est la vie.
Edit: Oops, we already talked about The Pinch.

Baltimore March 31 is at Club K and also features  Blackpool Holiday. Too bad Jaguar, it would be fun to hang out again! I am planning on going early to spend some time with Tom.
Here's the facebook event for this –> https://www.facebook.com/events/491632107562968/

the image/poster shows Ghion, but the description shows that it has been moved to the Pinch.

Maybe this will get Rick back on this board.

We Fought the Big One 9 year anniversary
4/5/2013
Celebrate nine years of DC's highly unwieldy, Belgian beer-fueled post-punk dj party at the Marx Cafe on Friday, April 5! We are honored to have
post-punk legend Jowe Head of Swell Maps and TV Personalities and the one and only Brian Turner, music director of WFMU, spinning tunes with us! Plus,
crazy drink specials, a new We Fought the Big One mix cd, t-shirts, posters, and ill-advised expressions of enthusiasm behind the turntables. Hope you
can join us in what promises to be a ridiculously fun evening!
Also Jowe Head live band 4/7 at Judy's Restaurant with Cigarette.
And Jowe Head live band added to Baltimore Popfest 4/6.
Sult + Stephanie Barber
March 29
at the Red Room

I really wish I didnt already have plans for that night.

Sult is a Norwegian/American trio playing sound-oriented improvised music: Acoustic noise drawing inspiration from contemporary music, electroacoustic improv, and drone. Their music reflects great patience, deep listening, and complete trust in one another. Their individual sounds alternately cohere into unified group textures, and run precariously aside one another as independent streams.

Stephanie Barber will be performing her visual/prose performance piece "Talking/Looking."
Always compelling, Stephanie is one of my favorite performers in Baltimore and maybe the whole universe.

This is now a FREE event. NO COVER!

I sooo wish that I could come into town for this.
Tonight = Wednesday March 20.

"Tune in to NBC tonight at 11:35pm/10:35c to see Gary Clark Jr perform "Numb" on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno."

Don't have cable hooked up which is the only way to watch tv here. That's okay, I'll just watch it on the network site afterwards or find it on YouTube.
hey, in case there was some confusion about whether Ceremony is or isn't playing with Nightmare Air at Beats this Sunday, the answer is: they are.
