Please please please please Mr. Hurwitz, Sir.
Hey Seth,

If you book the Flaming Lips at The Club I will give you two t-shirts and a metro card.
^that made me laugh  ;D
i remember the fond days to think on how richmond was better than dc, so many posts ago.  julian and i would discuss the finer things such a town could offer one.  it was a laugh . . . and now the anticaption of knowing it was true makes me shiver, in anticipation of these shows.  even if they do come to dc.

yeah the staph down here is pretty excited about these recent announcements. flaming lips and EITS have been very good the past times I've seen them.
The Body @ Golden West

Agolloch and The Body two weeks in a row with Helmet/Crowbar/St. Vitis/Kylesa inbetween - how did we get so lucky?

THIS FRIDAY (Friday, 2/4)
Moneytown @ Little Miss Whiskey's Golden Dollar (1104 H St., NE DC)
10pm-3am, FREE
DJ Nitekrawler w/ special guest: Jason Perlmutter (Carolina Soul, Paradise Of Batchelors)

ABOUT OUR GUEST:
Coming to you all the way from North Carolina, this month's special guest is Mr. Carolina Funk himself, Jason Perlmutter !

Born and raised in Raleigh, NC, Jason began his musical career as Station Manager and DJ at WXYC FM in Chapel Hill. It was there that he developed a special interest in soul music, with an emphasis on local groups. Jason spent much of his time and energy tracking down Carolina groups, (documented in loving detail on his ambitious website: carolinasoul.org), and playing their records on both the radio station and at club nights. His DJ resume boasts such prestigious milestones as Bumpshop (APT in NYC), and DJing with J.Rocc at the Neighborhood Theatre in Charlotte, NC. Since 2007, Jason has acted as Project Coordinator for 7 re-issue singles on Kay-Dee, Funk 45 and Soul-Cal. He was also the main force behind the widely successful Carolina Funk Compilation, released on Jazzman & Now-Again in 2007. Recently, Jason partnered up to form NC based Record label: Paradise of Bachelors (paradiseofbachelors.wordpress.com), check the website for updates on releases, cool pics, and interesting facts!

And peoples, lace up those dancing shoes TIGHT, cause you know to expect some seriously heavy funk, soul, and disco tunes with a special dose of Carolina fire when Jason mans the decks at Moneytown!

So The National has the Flaming Lips, Explosions in the Sky, AND they don't use a joke ticket provider?  Can someone please airlift this venue into DC.

Hopefully Suuns is better than Wavves.

Great news about The Black Angels.  They sounded fantastic on the 9:30 soundsystem last November.
