I wasn't there, but I hardly think this qualifies him as a girlfriend beater.  Martin and Elyse both pressed assault charges on each other, they were both eventually dropped.  Sounds to me like they just got in an argument and got in a fight over it.  To press assault charges you need some kind of physical proof for them to stick.. neither did.  As far as I've heard this is an isolated incident which could or could not have actually even happened.

I've been in dozens, if not hundreds of fights, I'd hardly call myself violent.  I grew up in Richmond, people fight, it happens, it's really not that big of deal.  I've never even come remotely close to angrily touching/hitting/anything a girlfriend of mine or my current fiancee.  It's not to say that I haven't been highly pissed off at them, that also just happens when you care that much about someone.  So yeah, all we actually know is, they got pissed off at each other and a blog post was made.  It sucks that was enough to make you not enjoy them anymore.  Additionally, he just a keyboard player.. it's not like he's a real band member anyway, ohhhhhh.

That's a rational, well-thought out, level-headed take on the whole situation. I was just going to say she had it coming and leave it that.

Metallica
Sat 10/17/09  John Paul Jones Arena, Charlottesville, VA
Sat 11/14/09  Madison Square Garden Arena, New York, NY
Santigold
June 10
9:30 Club

Claiming to be her first live band dates in N. America, which is jack cause i saw a full band Santagold open for AIH a couple years ago, back when she claimed the band was an actual duo, and not just her.

Not exactly a "just announced" item, but since no one else has mentioned it, here's an item I originally posted in the "This Week Rollcall" thread:

BTW… if I were in NYC, I'd be catching the Emiliana Torrini show on Sat. 3/28 at the Hiro Ballroom.

http://www.emilianatorrini.com/index.php?option=com_wrapper&view=wrapper&Itemid=81

Saturday, March 28 - USA - New York, Hiro Ballroom
Sunday, March 29 - USA - San Francisco, The Independent
Monday, March 30 - USA - LA, Troubador

OMG OMG OMG!

Too rich for my blood, however.

I will personally attach myself to this tour and do every fucking show. EVERY. FUCKING. SHOW.

Both of those bands top my favorite shows/albums of the year lists already. Seriously, "Percussion Gun" from the White Rabbits is going to own anything else that comes out this year.

Also, I'm pretty sure that the White Rabbits are opening up for Spoon again on their pair of late-April shows in the DC area. (GWU and Lancaster, PA)
