Just Announced

HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEY!

What's all this about the Undertones being a great band…..a few weeks ago I made the same comment and was ridiculed for it by you lot, apart from Psuedoscousetwat coming to my defence.

Did you all forget mankie likes them or something, does that mean they're shite again now?

care to try and find this mythical thread?
the only one I remember is this

ended up being more about minis than the undertones
The mini, like garage rock, is in about its 14th minute…

NOPE! That's not it..it was about a song being played on DC101 but I didn't know the band. I said it was good and reminded me of The Undertones, a great band…then the shit-slinging began.

Rhett, the mini has been in production since 1959…that's a loooooooooooooooooooong 14 minutes don't you think?
It's on it's 14th minute in America in terms of being "hip".

And garage rock's been around equally long!
So has swing music. But how many people who were into it five years ago are still into it?

When Rhett becomes the harbinger of good taste, please kill me. Why does anyone bother replying to the troll?

Didn't reply to him, but to Mank. And all in defense of the mini! :D My days of replying to Rhett are over. Though I guess his shite seeps in to the discussions, doesn't it?
Aw come on people…if it weren't for Rhett and myself this board would be just one big love-fest. You all need someone to hate to keep the discussions lively.
Actually, Mankie, I do remember that thread. But I thought the barbs were directed towards the band you thought sounded like the Undertones (was it Jimmy Eat World?). I could be wrong, though, and I'm much too lazy to go back and look it up.

Didn't see that thread, but I found this great thread where you confess that you like listening to Moby while working out.
Moby is in his 23rd minute.
Can we please turn on the search just so we can prove that mankie is climbing up on the cross for no reason again :D

Actually it's been 'hip' as you say, in the rest of the world since 1959, but I suppose America is the only place that matters as usual.

Yes, I remember that one, I'm just honest to a fault. Mind you, I haven't heard the song since and don't feel like I'm missing out.

It was a Jimmy Eat World song, and I got crap for the Undertones praise….some of you actually came out and said JEW (hmmmm jew, wonder if there's anything to that?) were a good band so it was defo Fergal and the boys that I got the shite for.
Well I love the Undertones. They kept me awake on the long road home from Fletcher's many a time. Although I prefer the earlier more rockin' songs to the later more produced stuff. Haven't heard their new one yet, but am not sure I'll like them as much without Feargal.
well i would never give you shite for liking the orginial undertones or jimmy eat world… like em both… jimmy eat world just write great songs which happen to be insanely catchy. i have my doubts about the undertones without feargel thou… sorta like thin lizzy without phil lynott

I thought the same, but my comparison was "Pogues without Shane"
