Martha released maybe the best pop song of the year so far.
OK, no offense to Martha, but you've clearly never heard Problem by Ariana Grande.

Rams Head in Annapolis… Why oh why do you charge so much for shows?

6/27 and 28
America
$95

8/9
The Zombies
$75

America at Birchmere in October is $69.
The Zombies only cost $45 at Birchmere just a few days later.

Does anyone know why Rams Head is charging so much?  Is it because the venue is small?  Location?  The fact that you sit down?

Thanks Fillmore Silver Spring!
Maybe… I need some expert testimony from Hutch before I can make the correlation.

Thanks Fillmore Silver Spring!
We mock that now, but when Seth scaremongered with that crap before it was built, 99% of you recited it like Gospel.

do i detect some sarcasm?  ;D

its cause of the size of the room..its tiny…also, for the old fogey contingent ramshead annapolis is a much more attractive proposition than say the Fillmore or 930…you can sit down at a table, they bring you your food…that kind of thing..

birchmere does this sort of thing for some shows too although not the same ones evidently.. i think they had a chris isaak at like $90 or $95…
I GO TO BIRCHMERE FOR THE FOOD.

i actually felt the opposite and so did a few others… wrongly i thought the venues would compete with each other and drive prices down…

mock all you want but prices for concerts have gone up….its just hard to say exactly why…

but i was definitely wrong to think that some sort of IMP-Live Nation competition that would drive down price would take place..having thought about it some more i think venues often compete for the same acts by putting out offer sheets…. and the acts often go with the best terms… when you keeep that in mind and consider that in the past five years we've seen so many new venues  go up run by different promoters… i think it explains at least a bit of the increase… cost of booking talent goes up..otherwise your venue is empty.

Dude.  Not this again.  Prices have NOT skyrocketed since the Fillmore opened.

Most of the prices on the 930 front page are 20, 25, and 3 bucks… very similar to what I was paying to go to shows at 930 in 2005.

hey you brought it up?

I think they have gone up…

Echo and the Bunnymen is a good example…

but if you want to leave it here that is fine

in any case, as I said, its hard to say why prices have gone up…skyrocketed no..but gone up? def
You are wrong.
