Originally posted by distance:per the interview quoted in the "holy crap new radiohead album" thread, thom would refuse to do red rocks because there is no mass transit out there - everyone needs to drive, and he wants to minimize the CO2 emissions associated with the tour. means that merriweather, wolf trap and nissan pavilion are out, too.
i'm disappointed that denver's not on the list. i wanted to go to red rocks. there's really no other band i'm interested in seeing that plays amphitheatres so i figure they are my shot to see something @ red rocks.
Just Announced
looks like it will probably be the verizon center then.

Cooler option would be a cirque de soleil style tent.
The D.C. Armory is Washington's auditorium, arena, big top and ballroom. Under this huge dome, the people of the nation's capital come to enjoy the nation's extravaganzas. It's a year-round parade of exciting events in an historic showplace. The D.C. Armory has played host to conventions, circuses, inaugural balls, horse, home, car, and food shows. You name it and the Armory can handle it.
The Armory also can be adapted to audiences of varying sizes from 1,000 to 10,000 people. Its cavernous interior can be readily transformed into an elegant setting for formal social affairs. Food service runs the gamut from finger sandwiches to crystal champagne fountains. Its entrance may become a handsome carpeted theater lobby which guests enter via a canopy.

Yeasayer is sold out. :(
Nothing going on on the mainstage that night… probability of them moving the show up there?

I hope they move the show to the mainstage – and sell more tickets. I blew off this show because the backstage acoustics are so bad.

I don't mind the backstage acoustics that much. I've heard worse.
They could easily fill half the mainstage if not more for this show, though. It surprises me that it was booked down there to begin with.
Guess the fact that the BC sells advanced tickets to backstage shows is well-known now.

Not completely sold out according to ticketmaster. When trying to buy tickets, I get the "tickets aren't available through here at this time" message as opposed to the word verification->"this show is sold out" message.
Looks like they're moving it.
Or they'll have tickets at the door.
