The Mars Volta might be the most terrible band making music today. Coheed & Cambria for the Pitchfork scene.
Glad to hear that you won't be at the show. Word on the street is that you are even more of an insufferable prick in person. I didn't think that was possible.

Hogwash! I have only met a few fellow boardies, and by all accounts I'm only an equally insufferable prick in person – no more, no less – and I'll be darned if you'll say otherwise sans retort, good sir!
You've got to be kidding me. Same night as shadow/cut chemist?
That hurts.

I don't know if I should take this as you're on my side or think I'm an insufferable prick, but I'll take what I can get!

No, I'm on your side. You're rather fun to hang out with sir…which outweighs the at some times insufferableness.

Look… I like gum OK. I realize I chew alot, but it's just gum. It's not like I'm a chain smoker or spitting chewing tobacco all over the place. Ugh. We can discuss this via PM so as to not bother others.

To tie in with the 2008 releases of DVD versions of Maiden concert videos "Live After Death" and "Maiden England," the band will focus almost entirely on the '80s in both song choices and stage set for the tour.
The set will be based mainly around the band's Egyptian production of the 1984-85 World Slavery Tour, but will include key elements of the 1986-87 Somewhere In Time Tour, including Iron Maiden mascot, Cyborg Eddie.

wait, didn't maiden just play jersey? i might be confused, but i swear that someone at a party just recently was telling me about the maiden concert in da jerz… what i am sure of, though, is that IM announced this "thanks to the fans tour so we're playing powerslave-era stuff" several months ago. looking at their tour schedule, maybe this is an add-on show?

I saw Maiden in October of 06 at Camden. They played their entire new album, and then a little old stuff. That might be the show you are talking about???

nope, must have remembered wrong, he must have been telling me about getting tickets to this show (to be honest i wasn't listening carefully). tickets have been on sale since 11/06, so we must have announced the show here earlier. having a severe bout of senioritis.
can we threadjack for a moment and discuss the fact that IM are playing a venue named for a preppy clothing manufacturer?

They are also flying around the world in their custom 757, piloted by Bruce Dickinson. Their 2008 tour will probably generate revenue equivalent to some small nations' GDP.
