I think the clear answer is do Neko on one night, Wilco on the other, and skip Blitzen Crapper cuz they suck balls. And cuz Birchmere sucks donkey balls.

Wtf….why are Neko, Blitzen Trapper and Wilco all on the same night?

don't get the birchmere hate… its not for you..its not for me (I don't think I've been there in six or seven years and that was a bandstand show [JORGE BEN!!!!!!!!!!!!] but its a great place for many people…its just catering to a different clientele…doesn't mean it sucks!

This statement defies prevailing message board logic which is: "it's not for me = it sucks"

Modest Mouse tickets were an easy grab.
The Jesus and Mary Chain site announced they're playing at the 9:30 on Sept. 9th, but it was removed. Still, that's encouraging.

I saw them 27 years ago at the 930 club and haven't seen them since.  I feel  I need to see them again for this reason.  I am guessing Bobbie Gillepsie hasn't rejoined the band though?

Well replace Johnny Marr with Craig Gannon and tour without him.  I went to their gig here in 1986 which was sold out and someone wanted 35 for a ticket.  I thought that was ridiculous at the time so I passed and didn't see them.  I wish I had paid the guy so I could have said I saw them.
The gig at the Smith Center at GWU? I heard someone pissed Morrissey off and they only played about 3 songs. I knew this girl who got backstage and partied with Mike Joyce and Johnny Marr though, she said it was amazing.

Yeah GWU.  I think it being general admission kept ticket prices high. But I would be  pissed if I paid 35 dollars in 1986 dollars and they only did 3 songs.
The Jesus and Mary Chain Coachella gig (five years ago  tomorrow!) obliterated any expectations I had. Hopefully they have kept it together well since.
Kenny Rogers added to Bonnaroo.
In a weird confluence of events that responds to everyone's posts about the Smiths' Smith Center show:

1. I was selling tickets outside the Smith Center that night ($35 sounds about right);
2. They played a whole set; and
3. Backstage after the show I happened into a dressing room/locker room and saw that one of the band was having relations with a young woman.

;D

That wasn't a young woman, that was just Morrissey.

I'd love to see J&MC!
White Life
5/3 - Washington DC @ DC9 w/ DDm and Big/Bright
5/25 - Baltimore, MD @ Soft House w/ Sassoon, North America and more TBA

I liked Soft House.
Nice chill warehouse show space. Shame DC has nowhere near as many spaces like that as Baltimore.

Any chance for an Afghan Whigs w/ Eagles of Death Metal show at 9:30?
