question: is James the opening band for Squeeze? I know that's the case for the Radio City Music Hall show up in NYC?

kevin wearing near nothing - and me being in front = :D
Too much attention is paid to the theatrics and not enough to actually playing the music live, IMO. The few times I saw them, it sounded to me like a loose mess and the songs were barely distinguishable. That and the fact that Kevin doesn't seem to know that all his best material was released before Aldhils. I may give them another chance if songs from Coquelicot and Gay Parade start showing up in setlists again.
I missed them the couple chances I had to see them too. Showed up too late to see them open for Primus at DAR and when they played the club not too long ago, I had something else going on.

Originally posted by sweetcell:it's true that dead moon isn't on the same level as, say, calvin harris, but pearl jam covers them so they MUST be good, right? anyway, you should go to this show, i think you'd dig it. as an added bonus, you'd have a new band to namedrop when you want to mention a cool garage rock band, so you can finally retire references the dmbq show from two years ago.

sorry, that wasn't directed at you… just a funny graphic i've been waiting to use. should have dropped in on mr. marshmallow instead :p and i recently referred (once) to the DMBQ show 'cause i was talking about the apes, who also played that show. believe me, i'm beyond the point where name-dropping can help me… but it never hurts to try, right?
so thanks for the opportunity to bring them up again :p

Careful. Sounds obscure enough for sweetcell. His head might explode.

The EP they have out sounds pretty good (60's-ish psych pop) except for the vocals being barely audable.

Looks like no Death Set at the Velvet on 7/22. I heard that they dropped off the tour with the Mae Shi the other day and the Velvet date isn't listed either on their myspace or website.
Oh and this Vivian Girls album is pretty badass. It's like the Raveonettes gone punk.
