I truly don't know but I'll see what I can find out. Airiel is touring now and doing a KEXP thing in a few weeks so I had assumed they would be headlining. Either way, every one of these bands are well worth seeing.

Seems to me that there is another band playing the DC show but not altogether positive. Screen Vinyl Image (ex-Alcian Blue and very good) maybe?

A friend of mine interviewed Airiel on his radio show and they said that their just released album was heavily influenced by APTBS and you can hear it from the songs I've heard. Live, Airiel are extremely blissful and their newer works rock more than their older works. We all loved them when they played the Warehouse a year or two ago. (I'm losing track of time!)

The Sky Drops is Rob Montejo's(sp?) new band. (Ex-Smashing Orange) which is a somewhat obscure older Shoegaze band and well respected by the hardcore Gazers. This new project is just a tad more mellow.

Thrushes is a newer, or Nu-Gaze, band from Baltimore making headway internationally amongst the same Gaze fans.
The Black Cat site has a place to bury strangers listed as the headliner.

Either way, it should be a great show and I'm psyched for it.

Sweet 2 weeks for shoegaze at the BC; A place to bury strangers this week, spectrum a week and a half later and deerhunter (I guess whether or not they fit here is debatable) a few days after that.
I always feel sorry for any band who have to play after APTBS. It just isn't fair! Anyone who has seen them live, especially when they opened for Secret Shine last October, will know exactly what I mean.

Mole fight…
Who wins?
Thurston's mole (btw would be a great band name)
or
Carlos Beltran's?

Of course the grand champ would be That Thing on Aaron Neville's face.

What's the over under that the tour doesn't make it out of NC?
I guess I know why DC isn't listed…

I smell a headliner for V Fest 2008. :p

OK, not really.
God Van Halen sucks. Sucked then. Sucked even worse now.
