Just Announced

I just don't like Iota - especially when it's really crowded.  No advance tickets and it fills up very quickly, bad sightlines, hard to move around…. and there's no real escape.  There's nowhere to go to get out of the crowd (unless they let you just hang out in the restaurant without eating).  It doesn't help that I'm in MD and it's just really inconvenient for me.  So yeah, I do actually prefer the Backstage.

I know some people love it though.  (shrug)

dammit - why does this have to be at Iota?  grrrr.

Much as I'd wish it was otherwise, I don't think you'll have a problem getting in for Tommy Keene or even moving around a bit.

You think?  I figured just his friends would be enough to fill the place.  Or at least Bags and all of her friends. :)  I'll have to think about it when the time comes.  Thx.
plus the non-stop chatter and smoke. I guess we're just spoiled in DC, but since the ban went into affect, going to Iota has become a must see band type situation for me…

Yeah, not even the best earplugs out there could save anyone from losing at least some hearing at this show.

My head was pounding for a good couple days after their last BC appearance; afraid to think of how I'll feel after a show in a room half the size.
i saw them at the ottobar last year, or the year before….they were awesome and my ears hurt less than they did after the 930 show a few years back.

  you'll be ok!

I could see Dino Jr. every month for the rest of my life and i would never get sick of it…..now if they'd only start playing songs from their WHOLE catalog.

did i show you a pic of my new car??

dinosaur jr. should only play music from when j. kicked the band apart.  his musical genius shined fully then and only then.  those other people are back up players.  sebadoh is by far the clearest example of this.

and the fog.  even the fog was better than sebadoh.
If I was a moderator, that would've been a ban-worthy post.

Consider yourself lucky.
According to the Ottobar's website, the Dino Jr show is with Mike Watt.
Awesome!

Not really just announced…  but do i ever wish i could go…. fingers crossed they attempt something like this in NYC

Idlewild are set to play their albums in full at a series of London shows.

The band did a similar live run in Glasgow last year.

The band will perform all their albums, including their forthcoming release (due in May), at Dingwalls in the capital.

The dates and albums are:

'Hope Is Important'/ new album (May 19)
'100 Broken Windows'/ 'Warnings/Promises' (20)
'The Remote Part'/ 'Make Another World' (21)

Depeche Mode has begun to release more venues to go along with their list of cities and dates…  June 28th, Nissan Pavilion
I'd be into a 'Hope Is Important'/ '100 Broken Windows' show.  They kind of lost me after that.

They are also playing Toads Place in Richmond the night before.  Maybe go to both.  Whoops forgot to quote.  I'm refering to Dinosaur Jr.
