Just Announced

Her album is terrible. She got some great folks–Queens of the Stone Age, Lanegan, etc.–to work on it with her, but her vocals are weak and better lyrics have been written by a 17-year old just back from the Lilith Fair.
Some new Black Cat shows are up:

FRI SEPT 10- BLACK CAT ANNIVERSARY PARTY: 11 years, 11 bands, and lots of free stuff $7 mainstage 9:30
(not new, but some additional info…although a list of bands would be nice)

THUR OCT 14- MISSION OF BURMA $15 mainstage 8:30
FRI OCT 22- MIKE WATT mainstage 9:30

There are more, but these are the ones that caught my attention

I wish punk (or at least what passes for it) bands these days would stick to 11 minute sets. It'd be a lot better than sitting through most of the turds out there.

how do you go from 9:30 to Jaxx in such a short period of time
I dunno…seems like an oddly hip booking for JAXX. Might have to make the walk over there for this one.

Are we saying that I could see DBT of Friday - Tragically Hip on Sat - and then the Old 97's on Sunday?! Man - I like the club, but not sure I could do that. Plus I'd need to apply for a beer loan now.

How do you like the new Hip Sonic? It's one of my "languishers" that I have not given a fair shot.
What am I missing here?

I don't see a Libertines show on tickets.com or pollstar or ticketmaster.

I found the last two to be kind of mediocre. Not bad, but not up to par with Up To Here, Road Apples or Phantom Power.

Haven't picked up the new one yet. But they always put on a great show. I maintain that Gord Downie is the frontman that Michael Stipe has always wished to be.

ditto, GGW. But I figured, it's not gonna sell out in seconds, I'd wait to see. I don't think the Libertines thread which announced the show even specified the 9:30 Club as the venue…
I saw it on tickets.com, but it doesn't seem to be there now. You can still get parking for that night though (10/19)
