Why anyone would pay to see Spinal Tap do out of character acoustic versions of thier songs is beyond me.  I think it's at warner so it won't be cheap I'd think.

On sale Saturday at 10am through Live Nation and the Warner box office.  Prices at $65, $52.50, and $39.50
I can't say I have any interest in seeing Spinal Tap personally, but here's some pre-sale info for the Lyric Opera House in Baltimore (Tuesday, May 12th, 2009 @ 8:00pm):

Pre-Sale starts March 4th at 5:00pm
Use Promotion Code "Patron"
Black Joe Lewis added as support for Gomez.
I don't know who caught him at DC9 in November, or may have happened upon him otherwise.  But, this adds more to this bill than Josh Ritter would have, for me anyway.
I will try to get tix for AC tomorrow, hope they dont sell out.  might have an extra, or be willing to sell my 930 one if i can get an ottobar one.  this was great news!

You've obviously never seen a Josh Ritter show.

Good news about Doves, though I am not a big fan of their live shows…they're just OK live.

I agree 'live' they aint' that special, nor was I particularily impressed with their 'Some Cities' album. I hope hte new album is better than 'Cities'

frick! I nate Nissan with a passion.
I thought Doves were awesome the last time they played 930. When they played Sonar, they were not quite at that same level.

wow… two announcements really caught my eye in the e-mail blast:

Tu 4/7 Deadmau5 w/ The Whip & Late of the Pier Late Show! 10pm Doors
that's a relatively insane line-up, if you like dancing to blips and beeps.  too bad it's late on a weeknight, might have a negative impact on attendance (but will have a very positive effect on personal dancing space for those who do make it there!)

goddamn it, what a great lineup, but what a shitty time.  I'll stay for the whip and Late but I'll skip Deadmau5, Tuesday's a real bad night for a late show.  With Friendly Fires at the Black Cat, alot of good dance acts are finally getting some stateside DC dates, too bad Simian Mobile Disco is up in Baltimore (wont bother with that show or that venue - might change my mind, but at the moment - eh, nope).

Youre on crack, Taxlo > Bliss every and any day of the week. When it comes to dance parties and dance-y shows Sonar destroys any venue in DC. This is well worth 12$. Do it. Do it. PLUS Tittsworth is opening for SMD.
I agree, Sonar is great for things like this.  is the hate due to the fact that it is in baltimore?
Id imagine so, Its not so bad. But I do drive to work in College Park every weekend so it seems a lot shorter for me. It's incredibly worth it. It's better than driving to NYC to see SMD.
