Holy crap (that's not an exclamation of excitement new kiddies). Michael Bolton @ Birchmere $100 9/20
anyone with crystal ball info. on a ticket sales date of the sinead show at the strat. man, her new album and the jah brother glory style she has brought groove to is wonderful, but can't she just sing the damn prince song one more time, so everyone screams like jewish grandmothers getting verklempt? or jerusalum or mandinka? even the purple one gave up such a pouty phase after his last real u.s. tour, where he refused to play the classics, except for teasing riffs and of cource the encore of purple rain.
The Rosebuds are opening for the two National dates on 9/5 and 9/6.
Wow…that's fantastic news about the Rosebuds. I'm there.

Bloc Party, Deerhoof, and Smoosh are touring together. Good lord, that would be an awesome show. Here's hoping they announce more dates.

Thursday, August 23rd
The Highline Ballroom (431 West 16th Street, New York City)
It is the launch party of THE KOR PROJECT (www.korproject.com). It is a night to bring together emerging artists in a collective show of music and visual art. It is a great reason to play all of the new material we have been working on the past few months. The tickets for the event cost slightly more than usual for us, but itâ??s for a good cause. THE KOR PROJECT is partnering with The Lance Armstrong Foundation (Leukemia & Lymphona Society of New York) for this event. If you can, come out and say hello. To buy Tix go to www.korproject.com Other than planning the show, we have been busy writing. The summer has been good to us so far. We have eleven new songs finished and are working on a few more. We are hoping to go into the studio to record them over the next few months. We are thankful we have the opportunity to write this record at our own pace, and are sure that the final product will reflect our hard work. Fingers crossed, it shouldnâ??t be too much longer. Thanks for your support. -stellastarr*

The Nada Surf show at the 8x10 in 2006 had to be the best 12 dollar show I've ever been to. Such a criminally ignored band.
