Maybe he will draw more than an audience of two, like when I saw him fre at DCCD.

this is great, great news, even if its not until March - hopefully DC will get a date as well

One of the clerks spent a lot of energy apologizing to him that nobody (other than my friend and I) showed up.

And for $34? What the hell? I love when these flash in the pan bands with one album, base their ticket price on popularity at the time. That seem a bit steep to me.
1 album? who are you talking about? you may not like modest mouse, but they have been around for a while
okay, my mistake. one hit, and $34?

i suppose you would charge $1 after struggling to make it

like most bands, you could have seen them before their success for cheap

is that why they call you "hitman" cause you know all the hits?

so true pollard…i saw them a few years ago at the black cat and paid $10 maybe? i'm not too into the newest album but The Moon & Antarctica and Lonesome Crowded West are phenomenal albums…Unfortunately, Isaac Brock was sloppy-ass drunk at the Black Cat show but I've heard he's sobered up now (relatively); so perhaps $34 is worth it to see a tight modest mouse show.

was at the show, yeah he could not even finish, claimed he broke an amp but I am pretty sure he just could not stay upright

next time he was town for the ugly casanova show he had just got out of jail and was sober for the night, great show
i wasn't in town for ugly casanova…bummer. i had heard it was a great show.

2 of my favorite songs from last year (2 years ago???):
Barnacles
Cat Faces

Seek out Holopaw - his partner on UC…if you haven't already done so.
Anyone seen John Cale live in the past 10 years or so? I really want to go but have no idea what to expect or if it's just gonna suck.

Also, GIANT SAND are playing Iota in Oct/Nov, they're so good live.

Anyone read this book? Based on his review and newspaper writing over the years, I can't stand Jenkins. Just wondering how the book would be…not sure I'd want to see him speak, though.

And I guess yours is an allusion to the Sega Genesis game?
Dance of Days is a good document of DC's punk/activism history. It's a bit nostalgic though and really plays up certain events that at the time probably didn't seem as important.

I have the book and, like the e-dog sez, it's a good document of the times. I think one's opinion of Mark Andersen would weigh more heavily than one's opinion of Jenkins.

I loved the book, though I thought it turned a bit activist-heavy and put too much emphasis on Positive Force.
