This is gonna be a little strange.

Older Punk rockers with a very young teenage crowd.

Guess this is what they will call 'Dad Punk'.
I know there was a back and forth on this a while back but old97s indicate on their web site that they are playing Live on Penn July 10

wow, sadly, I could have called that one. I imagine Cracker and Blues Traveler will be appearing also.

I have heard that Talib Kweli is playing… possibly with a certain twin fronted DC band on the bill, but that is merely a rumor at this point, and completely unverified.

I thought you'd be ecstatic about the Old 97s playing there
I'm curious about Fort Reno? their site says they are accepting demos til 5/22.

Also: COFFEE AND CIGARETTES, the new film from Jim Jarmusch ("Ghost Dog," "Mystery Train") opens exclusively at the E Street on Friday.
A serious of shorts featuring Jarmusch's many friends kibitzing over you know what, it stars Roberto Benigni, Cate Blanchett, Steve Buscemi, Steve Coogan, Genius/GZA, RZA, Alfred Molina, Bill Murray, Iggy Pop, Tom Waits, Jack White, Meg White, Steven Wright and more. Jarmusch hasn't put out anything since "Ghost Dog" five years ago, so this should be a real treat for his fans. Check out the official website:

Oh, I am ecstatic about that one (except for the fact that Fuel is probably the headliner, leaving the Old 97's with less than a full length set time), but I'm being greedy…hoping for more good stuff.

Q and Not U are listed on pollstar for 7/5.

Did anyone hear the story behind the soundtrack to Ghost Dog?

Apparently RZA wouldn't deliver any of the tracks to Jarmusch. Instead, Jarmusch would have to go to some street corner in South-Central where RZA would be waiting in a van. Only then would he hand over the tracks.
I once saw Jarmusch walking on Bowery St. carrying a bag of groceries. I almost missed him because my eyes were on the tall, willowy chick he was with…
