And I've been listening to the new Ponytail album a lot lately. It's pretty schizo, in a good way. I'd totally go to this if I were unlame.

unlame is a prerequisite, being schizo is good… as is being deaf. ponytail's opening set for yeasayer was one of the worst things i've heard in quite a while. maybe i've lost my punk sensibilities, or my appreciation of music has become too dependent on melody. the drummer was impressive but i seriously couldn't tell if the guitarists knew how to play their instruments, or whether or not the singer was in pain. it was so grating i had to leave the room. YMMV.
