If their drummer wasn't leaving the country they would have played the DAM! Fest…

Who is J Freedom? I'm audio media-less at work.
He does the weekly music chat for the Washington Post. You can find the transcripts on their website.

niiice … anyone know what his live shows are like?
He just put together a full band according to pitchfork. Not sure if this show is with them or if he'll just be doing a laptop set by himself.
I highly doubt that Josh Ritter will be the cause of a crowd stampede at Olssons :

October 07, 2006 Washington -
D.C. Olsson's Books & Records (Dupont Circle)

2 PM in-store appearance. Address: 1307 19th St, NW in Washington DC. Phone: (202) 785-2662.
Brilliant…I refused to miss (smog) to go pay to see Ritter open for Jamie Cullum. Very similar to when Rhett Miller played Border's and I was able to avoid paying to see him open for Neil Finn.

awesome!

i am going to do a bus trip from Baltimore to this one!!
so is lily wrong that people won't be storming the doors of llsens for that one? I'll make sure we're there early.

Rhett Miller wishes he was half the songwriting talent Neil Finn is….and I love the Old 97s….but solo….ugh…
The Futureheads cancelling their tour, and their 10/26 Baltimore show is DC's gain. We got the Cold War Kids to play hte DAM! Festival.
bugger. that would have be a great addition.

Or else I'll come merch that show or work at that charity table. . . or something.

TUES NOV 21- THE LIVING END $12 mainstage 8:00 (on sale 10/6)

MON DEC 18- MR. LIF, THE COUP $15 mainstage 8:00 (on sale 10/6)
Today I listened to a European band called Envelopes on last.fm. Really good couple of songs, I just saw that they are playing at the Blackcat on Oct.4. If I were in DC, I would try to go.

If you enjoy music in the slightest go see the Living End because their guitarist is the sickest motherfucker out there right now and it's kind of incredible
Yeah I used to listen to the Living End a lot back in high school. Didn't know they were still around.

Envelopes/ratatat should be fun. Don't think I'll be able to make it though. :(
