Just Announced

Touring this summer.

I'd imagine that's a Patriot Center show.

I bet its at Verizon.  All 3 have huge followings.

I wouldn't be so sure.  I feel like the Blink reunion could definitely be less anticipated than expected.  When they announced it at the Grammies, the crowd was beyond lukewarm.  And Angels & Airwaves/+44 may have driven away a few Blink fans.  I think the Blink reunion will appeal to a much smaller niche than expected.  Especially considering that's a band that already targetted a specific demographic, one that has more than likely moved on.  And Weezer's stock is certainly not at it's highest right now, between albums, and not particularly amazing albums at that.

I just think a Verizon Center show here would be undersold.  This reminds me of the Weezer/Foo Fighters tour, which was a tour that played Patriot Center size venues, when both bands were pretty big.

Does anyone know if this is Blink and Weezer co-headlining?  I'd like to see a decent sized Weezer set, so hopefully they're playing as more than an opening band.

Also, a friend told me he saw this on MTV, and tickets will be $20-$60.
FOB has sold about 6 million records in the U.S., Weezer has sold about 7 million, Blink 182 has sold over 10 million. Lord only knows how many people have downloaded their music and not bought the records. My guess is that even though audiences have outgrown Blink 182 a bit, they're still going to sell a LOT of tickets.

dude . . . american youth (the forever saviour of music) forgets everything within five minutes.  those three bands sold that much in a whole different universe that we live in now.  they are over.  hell, people in "the know" already are claiming that animal collective is soooooo over with.
Yea, it'll definitely sell a lot of tickets.  But I still think Nissan/Verizon might be too big.  I guess we'll find out shortly.

After reading an interview with Blink, they mention trying to "use the entire arena as a lighting rig and stage," so maybe the Patriot Center would be too small.  And Nissan is probably out of the question, as it seems to be an arena thing.

ALso, FOB just played at MPP earlier this year, and they seem to play around here often, so there might not be as much interest in them as usual.  Weezer, however, skipped DC on its last tour.  We'll see.

I just think it's too likely that Blink fans moved on, and younger folks haven't been given a good spinoff band to make them go back and check out Blink.  And I cannot even say what audience Weezer most appeals to these days.

Ew. I was excited for Weezer but shoving them in between 2 shitty bands is just awful.

And I'd imagine this is a Merriweather show if anything. Wasn't Blink 182 headlining Nissan by the time they called it quits?
Got my tickets to see Jack White..

Third time I'll see him.. third different band..

cool
Holy crap!  Dead Weather tickets are $35???!!!  For real?!  Their album doesn't even drop until the day of the their second show at the club.  I'm sure the shows will sell out, but I'm really not getting the prices of tickets these days.  They are just wonky.
well Blink 182 just announced tour dates.

08/27 - Saratoga, NY @ Saratoga Performing Arts Center
08/28 - Camden, PA @ Susquehanna Bank Center
08/29 - Hartford, CT @ New England Dodge Music Center
08/30 - Washington, DC @ TBA
08/31 - Wantagh, NY @ Nikon Theater at Jones Beach

They also have a date in VB at the amphitheater there on Oct 2nd.

Along with Fall Out Boy and Weezer, other openers for the tour will include Panic at the Disco, The All-American Rejects, Taking Back Sunday, Asher Roth, and Chester French. No word on who will be opening what date.

ew on most of those openers.
lol if the blink tour hits Virgin Fest.

The price of school clothes must've gone up during the recession..

Regardless, a good deal of people I know are talking about this band.  The few songs they have out are decent enough.  I think it really boils down to people wanting to see Jack White at the club.  So yeah, probably overpriced, but it'll still sell out.
1st sonic youth show is sold out.

It's the only show without a venue listed.  I feel like this is a guarantee its V-Festival.  The festival with Blink, AAR, Fall Out Boy, Panic and Asher Roth?  Now'd that'd be a sight haha.  It's like a kids and adults stage would have to be set up.
V Fest gets worse every year so that lineup sounds about right
saw this last night (outside the BC) after the Joe Pug/Horse Feathers show:

Magnolia Electric Co.
07/20
Black Cat

(mainstage I am assuming)
ween
fri, 7/17
dewey beach - bottle & cork
tickets on sale tomorrow ($30!)

There's also no Baltimore date (and they're doing alot of cities with this tour). Unfortunately, this does seem like a confirmation - our first real confirmation actually.

Ugh. If most of those supporting acts appear on the bill too, I probably won't go. Unless they have a good dance tent lineup.
Is Wino playing that 5/23 show solo now due to John Blank's untimely passing? That's how the updated bill makes it look.
