So this confirms it; no chance of a DJ Shadow dc date. :)
Suck about no shadow date…

Also, I just finished my TVOTR poster for the Oct. 20 date at Sonar, thinking there was no DC date. Hmmm…

Maybe I can still whip up something for DC…
It was a band called The Hush. Their site is down, but they had a female singer and were on most of the bills that I ever saw promoted there.

the supreme imperial was run by george france (of the convocation of and the hush) and his wife, whose name i can't recall. they lived upstairs. they didn't get shut down, but i can't remember exactly why they stopped having shows. i know they did a bit of traveling last year. not sure if they still live there; i booked the convocation of last november and talked to george, but i haven't seen him since. i thought the hush had some potential but never lived up to it.
SAT NOV 18- AMY MILLAN (of Stars) $13 mainstage 9:30

Amy Millan (the other girl) is touring behind her solo album this fall, so I assume Emily Haines will be there.

Well yeah, but now you get to see her without a band. So she doesn't have to split your money four ways.

these dates are in between proper METRIC shows, and the "Soft Skeleton" are comprised of some familiar faces…so she's still not taking in ALL the ducats, this won't merely be Em + guitar

Doesn't Veruca Salt still have enough indie cred to play inside the city limits? Velvet Lounge, DC9, Red & The Black, Warehouse, hell even Talking Head or Sonar in Baltimore but don't banish them to the burbs just yet

Funny, I just listened to "American Thighs" on Saturday – first time in a couple years, I'll bet.
Did they ever have any indie cred? I bet more of their fans live in the burbs that DC. And i'll bet JAXX has a larger capacity than any of the places you list.
