The Cat's Cradle is in Carrboro, NC (just next to Chapel Hill). They do sometimes present shows in Raleigh, but from the schedule, this doesn't appear to be one of them.

Any word on a DC show?
based on the schedule toronto 16th, nyc 17+18, carrboro 19, seattle 21, sf 22, la 23 – i don't see how they could fit a dc show in really. i'd go, but i'm definitely taking the trip down to carrboro.
where are they playing in SF? Link please?

You can spit from Carrboro to Raleigh. Clearly I am aware where the venue is. So, your clarification only aids those who DO NOT know where Cat's Cradle is. Of those people, how many do you think know where "Raleigh" is compared to the number who know where "Carrboro" is?

You cannot spit from Carrboro to Raleigh.

(Trust me on this; I grew up in Chapel Hill.)

Anyone marginally familiar with North Carolina geography has a rough idea of where Chapel Hill, Durham, and Raleigh (the "Triangle") are; Carrboro would be the one they hadn't heard of. Describing a Carrboro venue as being in Raleigh is like describing a Silver Spring venue as being in Baltimore.

If you think nobody knows where Chapel Hill is, Durham would have been a better choice than Raleigh. It's closer, and people might remember it from signs on I-85.

Steep Summer Series

A summer series set to debut in East Hampton, N.Y., in July will cater to those who appreciate the finer things in their concertgoing experiences - exclusive settings, food prepared by famous chefs, luxurious lounges and world-class guests - with a catch.

It's the Hamptons in the summer, and that means VIP tix ain't cheap.

The Social concert series will likely be the most luxurious of this summer's offerings, but a pass to all five of the shows will cost $15,000, according to the Wall Street Journal. Apparently, single-show passes will not be sold for the event.

The all-star lineup will feature Prince, Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds, Billy Joel, James Taylor, and Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers on select Saturday evenings throughout July and August.

(continued…)
Is that really the best they could do for $3k a night?

Prince is the only one of those I'd consider seeing and I wouldn't pay more than $40.
Drive By Truckers

Fri July 20 - Washington, DC - 9:30 Club
This will be a Dirt Underneath show (and possibly half Rock Show!)

Very Cool! Glad we get the "dirt underneath" here in D.C……I'll also be at the Richmond show on June 22nd!…..
Dirt Underneath? Does that mean acoustic?

You're buggin'. Tom Petty is a BAAAAAAD man & one of the better shows I've ever seen. (And I've seen more than a few.) Plus Billy Joel my be the angriest white man to ever sit behind a piano. How can you not love that??? :D
Billy Joel is a pussy.
