Just Announced

I use yahoo, too (like its interface better than gmail) and the last blast I received was Feb 13.

Could yahoo be intercepting/deleting them before they get to me? And if that's the case, why has it only started last week?

Strange…

I didn't get one this week or last week.
I haven't gotten one in about 3 weeks. And I re-signed up, and nothing this week. :(
haven't seen this posted here… probably with good reason:

Is there a warrant for Koz's arrest in DC and Virginia? It's been SEVEN YEARS, how many midweek Baltimore/Annapolis shleps can one sadcore lover make??
That is so frustrating. I haven't seen Mark Kozelek in almost a decade and I would love to check this show out, but it's just too tough to get up to Baltimore in the middle of the week. Even if it were a Thursday I could probably swing it. Jeez. I'm sure it would be a great show, that limited edition double live CD he put out 2 years ago is phenomenal.
I saw him maybe 2-3 years ago as Sun Kil Moon.
Me and a friend fell asleep.

Maybe you could go to this, Jules! His missus is there and maybe God and Creator of Alternative Rock, Lou Reed will let you give him a reach-around.

My goodness, Jules. You really love sucking the dick of overrated pompous asses, don't you? Listen to this:

"He could come on stage, play Heroin and Pale Blue Eyes, walk off, and I'd list it in my top 10 shows of all-time."

"…and he could also fart in my general vicinity and I would think it smelt of fresh-cut roses."

Listen to that! Velvet Underground broke up about fifteen years before you were BORN! And you still want kiss the feet of some mean, bitter New York ***? Knock yourself out!

I like you Jules but maybe you should think about getting a hobby. Polishing the knobs of the Bowies, Reeds, etc. of the world is a betrayal of your generation. Don't be old before your time. Don't be some bitter crank who's suddenly "into vinyl", drinks crappy coffee and wears ironic sweaters.

In that too-jaded, smug, monotone of his, Lou Reed says:

"Julian. You want to hear "Sweet Jane?" "White Light, White Heat?" I'm LOU REED. I will play WHAT I WANT, WHEN I WANT IT! You hear? Just because of your request, I will play an extended, 'jammy' version of "Metal Machine Music" in its entirety. For my encore I will perform a reggae version of "Harry's Circumcision" while my wife spasms in the corner to a video instillation of Burger King wrappers blowing in the wind."

Brian
Wow. Such vitriol.
I'd pay $100 to hear that jammy version of Metal Machine Music live. :)

Now THAT'S funny. :D

at the DBT show last summer at the club i made the mistake of taking a shot of jack with every beer i drank … i can't believe i was still alive after 4 hours or so of that (i woke up the next morning on my couch with ben's chili all over my shirt, i have no idea how i got home)

i'm going to need to take it a little easier this time. but not much.

That's like saying "It's gonna be a decent deal or too fucking much."
Remind me not to stand anywhere near you for this show.

Lou Reed is one of the WORST live singers out there (almost as bad as Billy Corgan from Smashing Pumpkins) so I wouldn't get too excited about seeing him live. Now if the reformed Velvet Underground were to tour I'd pay to see that even though Lou Reed would ruin every song he sang with his bored/lifeless monotone voice.

lou reed sounds like lou reed. and he's very much an audiophile who emphasizes sound quality.
