This made my day.
We assumed this? Talked about already? Not sure where b/w the car seat and other talk…Sorry for any repetition…

According to the press release:
U Street Music Hall and 9:30 Club form booking alliance
…"The alliance will involve cross-venue booking.  U Street Music Hall will book promising acts in the Backbar located in the 9:30 Club basement, an intimate spot that fits about 50 people, and on certain nights the 9:30 Club will present live electronic acts in addition to developing acts from other genres at U Street Music Hall, which has a capacity of 500."

?We all know the excitement of seeing a band in a small place like the 9:30 Club,? said Hurwitz. ?Now we have the opportunity to see them in an even smaller place at U Street.  Mark my words, there will be bands that we present at U Street Music Hall that will one day headline at Merriweather.?

What would be interesting would be have a live stream concert from a Backbar concert…Lemme know if you wanna chat Seth. ;)
Have Nada Surf play at U Hall.
(I guess I should start a new thread…) Varying reports of which shows will be at U Hall..one says electronic music, another says up and coming bands, most articles state what I posted that they will cross book. I'd like to see well-known acts play in an even more intimate venue too.
The last blast had some UHall announcements listed in it.

We were contacted about this a couple weeks ago, our party is going to be one of the ones moving to BackBar. Super excited! Our first one is Friday December, 16th. Super excited, super honored, can't wait to see what else comes from this. Great way to start the 3rd year of our party. So pumped.
on the black cat website there are two shows listed as "black cat and 930 present at U Street Hall…"

I love DC Area venues.  This reminds me a lot of when IMP / Black Cat teamed up to push back against the LiveNation / Ticketmaster merger

Call me an idiot, but how would it benefit 9:30/BC to cross-promote shows at U Hall? Split the gate and booking fee?

Everyone is invited, but space is CRAZY limited, I'm sure everyone has been down there. I think they told us the capacity is right around 50. Ladies get in free to our party, not ladies are 5$. And 5$ slushies are a must.
